1. Packing Cubes
Y’all, I have been converted. I feel so disorganized because my bags would turn into a black hole. I would end up wearing the same 3 things because they were always on top and it would take ages to find items in my sea of black. I bought a set of packing cubes for my trip to Thailand and they were amazing. I’ve used them on all my trips since. I can’t find my exact ones on Amazon right now but these are similar ($12).
2. Portable Charger Bank
This Ultra High Capacity model ($50 on Amazon) has been a saving grace on so many trips. This bank can recharge my iPhone SEVEN TIMES off a single charge. It’s perfect for long-haul flights or hostels with inconveniently placed power plugs. I’ve had this one for two years and it’s still my most-used power bank.
3. Microfiber Beach Towel
It’s compact, quick-drying, and lightweight: perfect for a quick dip at the beach or at a hostel with a $10 towel rental. The loop is perfect for hanging it up or attaching it to your bag so it doesn’t blow away. $25 at REI (or cheaper on Amazon).
4. All-in-one Travel Adapter
I use this one from Skross ($18 on Amazon) but any brand will do. This versatile plug easily adapts to the outlet requirements for any country. It also has two USB outlets which can be used at the same time as the main plug. Other converters come with multiple pieces that you have to attach and remove for each destination which are both easy to lose and forget.
5. Osprey Fairview 40L Backpack
The Fairview is the women’s version of the popular Osprey Fairpoint. As a 5’1 female, the Fairview’s frame fit my hips and shoulders. I have used this as my primary luggage for everything from long weekend camping trips to my 2-week Greece vacation last summer. I love the option to carry this as either a duffel or a backpack and it unzips like a normal suitcase so you can easily access things at the bottom.
