6 Month Checkup: 2019 Travel Resolutions | Travel Diary

1. Visit a new state

So, I haven’t quite gotten around to this one yet! A Spring full of busy travel has kept my schedule full. With only 8 states left to check off, I’m not sure how likely it is that I’ll make it to a new one by the end of the year.

2. Get PADI certified

COMPLETE

As of Sunday evening, I am officially certified as a PADI Open Water Diver!! I completed this course just in time for my upcoming trip to Australia in September. I’ve booked a 3 day liveaboard boat to continue my diving certification as well as explore the Great Barrier Reef.

3. Learn a little Spanish

IN PROGRESS

I’ve done a great job of refining my French skills… but I haven’t made much (any) progress with Spanish. I attended a Spanish language learning event hosted by my company last week- that is better than nothing, right?

My friends and I are toying with the idea of a CDMX trip in November, this could be the perfect opportunity to brush up on my skills (and eat some delicious food).

Throwback to my first trip to Mexico City in 2015!

4. Take More Texas Road Trips

COMPLETE

In February, I took a girls trip to Texas Hill country to see the town of Fredricksburg and explore local wineries. I’ve also made trips to Fort Worth and Lake Texoma. I still haven’t seen San Antonio yet- so still working on this goal!

Fredricksburg, TX

5. Start Blogging

IN PROGRESS

Lately, it seems that work and travel have sucked up all of my spare time- I haven’t been blogging lately but I have so many ideas for articles to write. I’m planning on publishing guides to Georgia & Armenia soon.

After 6 months, I’m 2-for-5. Hopefully I can finish the year with a few more accomplishments (and blog posts)!
